The act of
creating allows us to be a part of making something beautiful. It is
illuminative. Through art we gain a deeper understanding of the human experience
- who we are and how we connect with each other and with our environment. When
we engage ourselves in the creative process we are required to look at the
world in a different way. This practice builds confidence, discipline, and a
sense of value and accomplishment. It obliterates autonomy and welcomes a
mindset of ubiquity. It fosters both independence and collaboration.
You do not
need to experience art professionally in order to thrive as an art-maker, much
like it is not necessary to be a theologian in order to be a spiritual person.
Rather, by learning to open yourself up to your own creativity and to cultivate
key skills, you will find that you too have something to add to the world of
art. I will teach you to channel your passion for creativity into something
tangible and meaningful.
